Lorraine Kelly was left red faced after gasps could be heard in the Good Morning Britain studio when she made an unintentional ‘insult’ to host Ed Balls live on air.

The 65-year-old had joined GMB hosts Susanna Reid, 54, and Ed, 57, in the ITV studio to update on what she had to come on her show. During the chat, talk turned to ways in which we could sort out our wardrobes.

Susanna explained that many people have clothes in their closets that they never wear and was asking if there was a more sustainable way to utilize items that are barely worn.

Wanting the Scottish host’s views, Susanna asked: “What’s your wardrobe like?” In response, Lorraine told her: “Well I have a fat wardrobe and a thin wardrobe.

Interrupting, Susanna giggled before saying: “Sorry, a fat wardrobe and a thin wardrobe?” Attempting to explain herself, Lorraine shot back saying: “You know floaty long dresses and things for when I’m feeling a bit fat.”

Turning her attentions to Ed, Lorraine added: “You know what I mean Ed,” as gasps were heard and the ITV star corrected: “Oh no, no, no, I didn’t mean it like that.”
