Award-winning Bristol comedian Jayde Adams is coming back to the stage later this year with a brand new stand up show – and the Bristolian is showcasing what she’s been working on to audiences on a one-off night in the city later this month.
At the moment the show is a work in progress – so she’s asked ‘friends, family and ex-sh*gs’ not to come to see it, because it’s not absolutely ready yet.
The new stand-up show will get its first-ever outing in public at the intimate Wardrobe Theatre venue in Old Market on Thursday, February 20, with two showtimes of 6pm and 8pm, where Jayde will be testing out the new show on a small audience.
The actor, presenter and stand up achieved global success with her stand up show Serious Black Jumper, which became an Amazon Prime special that was watched a staggering 200 million times, and longlisted for an Emmy Award.
“Now she’s back with a brand-new show, packed with her razor-sharp takes, big laughs and that unstoppable energy that’s made her one of the most exciting names in comedy,” said a spokesperson for the Wardrobe Theatre. “Don’t miss the chance to see Jayde crafting her next hit.”
In a tweet on social media, Jayde said this was a bit of a testing gig. “This is a work-in-progress,” she said, urging ‘close friends and family’ not to come. “Nothing personal, I just need to figure some stuff out in front of strangers. Strangers are easier. There’ll be a proper big show down the line, come to that one instead.”
