Sort Your Life Out star Dilly Carter has revealed she was “really poorly” whilst filming the BBC show as she underwent cancer treatment.
The “decluttering” expert made the candid admission during Tuesday’s episode of ITV’s Lorraine, where she discussed her battle with stage one womb cancer.
Carter, 44, who has been with the programme since its 2021 launch, shared how she continued working throughout her cancer journey, including filming episodes that are set to air from this week.
In 2023, Carter was diagnosed with stage one cancer of the womb following surgery to remove uterine fibroids.
The professional organiser underwent extensive surgery lasting nearly six hours, during which surgeons successfully removed the tumour from her womb.
Throughout her recovery journey, Carter has kept fans updated by sharing images of her hospital visits and ongoing treatments.

Carter spoke candidly about her health battle

Speaking on Lorraine, Carter described how she managed her diagnosis, detailing: “I was like, ‘Well, okay, this is part of my life. I now just have to deal with this… But at the moment, all I need to do is focus on getting better, getting through this moment, and getting to the end.'”
“I knew I had a goal, I had a focus. I’m lucky that I’m a positive person,” she added.
The mother-of-one reflected: “Throughout my whole cancer journey, I was working, I was filming. The episode that’s come out now was when I was going through treatment, when I was really poorly.
“It’s been an amazing journey, but a tough one. You have this huge amount of survivor’s guilt.”

Carter will return for the new series of Sort Your Life Out
BBC
The organising expert expressed gratitude for her current position, adding: “The fact that I’m sat here today, talking to you, doing what I love best on a show that I love, is just life-changing for so many people – it’s just unbelievable.”
Sort Your Life Out returns for its fifth series on Tuesday, reuniting Stacey Solomon and her team of experts.
The BBC series sees families completely emptying their homes, with all their belongings displayed in a giant warehouse to aid the decluttering process.
In just over a week, Solomon and her team of experts, which includes Carter, help transform these spaces into organised homes.
The programme, which first aired in 2021, has already enjoyed four successful series helping families across the UK tackle their clutter problems.
However, the show has not been without controversy, with co-host Stacey Solomon accused of being “too intrusive” by fans last year.

Sort Your Life Out has received complaints from fans in the past
BBC
In one episode, a recently divorced mum-of-two became emotional as she found photos from her wedding and a proposal speech penned by her ex-husband.
The episode focused heavily on their breakup, including bringing the former couple together to help clear the house.
Fans argued the moment had been too private and personal to air on screens as part of the house cleaning process.
