We may be approaching spring, but in true British fashion the wintery weather is showing little sign of letting up. So if you’re looking for a warm, cosy coat to snuggle up in against the elements, Uniqlo has the perfect item for you – and it’s now £50 off.
The Seamless Down Short Coat, described by Uniqlo shoppers as the “best investment ever”, has now been reduced from £149.90 to £99.90, saving you 33%. The comfy puffer has been hailed as the “perfect winter coat”, made from a stretchy synthetic fabric and lined with 90% soft, pillowy Down, and 10% feathers, complete with cosy, fleece-lined pockets.
The coat is also water-repellent, and boasts a seamless windproof design to keep the cold out, with a hood and a cushioned collar for extra warmth around the neck. And while it will keep you “incredibly warm”, it is also surprisingly lightweight, meaning it is easy to wear and even to layer up with a sweatshirt underneath without feeling uncomfortably padded.
The Down Short Coat is hand-washable, and has been updated with a cocoon silhouette for a more refined design. It is available in four versatile colours – black, light grey, green, and Wine red – and comes in all sizes from XXS to XXL.
Uniqlo shoppers have given the puffer coat an overall rating of 4.7 stars out of five, with over 300 reviews.

One satisfied shopper wrote: “Was sceptical at first as this coat felt so light to touch. It doesn’t feel heavy when you wear it all. You can layer up underneath, as you can wear a jumper or sweatshirt and feel comfortable. I wore my coat when it was less than 5 degrees, and felt incredibly warm. If you’re debating whether to get it or not, do not hesitate to buy it. Best investment ever!”
Another added: “I was pleasantly surprised by how warm this is – it exceeded my expectations! The quality is excellent, and it feels incredibly comfortable to wear. It does look a bit big, but that’s actually a plus because it leaves room for layering plenty of warm clothes underneath. Perfect for chilly weather.”
And a third commented: “Very good jacket, brilliant for the winter. I think this jacket is amazing, brilliant for the price – may seem expensive but it’s such good material. Forget all the rubbish cheap material jackets, buy this instead, this will last you years.”
However, some people struggled with the sizing of the coat, with one shopper noting: “Sizes are too big, bought XS and it was too big. XXS is okay. The older coat looked so much better, and the quality of the coat looked better compared to this new design. Please bring back old design from 2019.”
And another agreed, writing: “Ordered online. Jacket was very good quality. However, the fitting of the size is terrible. I ordered an XS. The arm length is more like XL size. I wonder if they stitched the wrong size arms on the jacket! Sent back for a refund the very next day after receiving the jacket.”
If you’re looking for a similar style coat, but with a bit more length, Marks and Spencer has the Stormwear Hooded Puffer Coat, in either black or taupe, for £130. Or if you’re after a bargain, Regatta has slashed the price of its Women’s Elender Baffled Jacket in black, from £130 to just £52, saving you 60%.
