Unforgotten’s second episode of series six saw fans continuing to plea for the return of Nicola Walker’s character Cassie Stuart, who was killed off in series four.
The straight-talking detective died in heartbreaking scenes, but many viewers have been complaining the series will never be “the same” and pleading for a return to the earlier series.
Unforgotten debuted on ITV in 2015, with Walker at the helm as Cassie and her detective partner Sunny played by Sanjeev Bhaskar.
Previous episodes have seen the two cracking cases linked to historic mysteries whilst exploring their own personal issues.
The latest series saw Sinéad Keenan replacing Walker’s role as DCI Jess James, but despite making her mark for a second series, fans are still comparing the show to its earlier episodes featuring Walker.
A Radio Times synopsis for Monday, February 10’s episode reads: “The Bishop Street team investigate Gerry Cooper’s record.

Keenan joined in the latest series, which aired in 2023, following the dramatic exit of Cassie, who died in a shock twist at the end of the fourth series.
Keenan admitted she initially thought it would be “ridiculous” to attempt to follow in Walker’s footsteps, but her curiosity led to her taking on the role.
Speaking to Radio Times, she added: “Only a fool would follow in Nicola Walker’s footsteps!”
