A cafe on Bristol’s bustling Gloucester Road is on the market. Cafe Rhubarb, which is located at number 388 in what is dubbed by agents as a ‘prime position, known for its high foot traffic and community feel’, has a price of £39,500 with a listed annual turnover of £75,000, according to the sales listing.
The already established cafe is being sold by its current owners, who boast some 12 successful years with the venue. It is being sold as a going concern, making for a ‘seamless’ transition for its next owner, the listing adds.
Cafe Rhubarb, which can be found opposite the likes of The Lonely Mouth Cafe, and The Royal Oak Pub on the busy road, boasts 26 indoor seats and four outdoor seats. What’s more, it’s described as already having a loyal customer base of regulars, and a ‘strong potential for growth’.
Agents say: “This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a well-established business in one of Bristol’s most desirable areas.” Rent is listed at £900 per month, with the listing adding: “The landlord is open to offering a new five-year lease to the buyer, ensuring stability and flexibility”.
At time of writing, Cafe Rhubarb boasts a 4.7 star rating on Google, with one reviewer writing: “Friendly staff and the decor is very interesting as its an American themed cafe. We ordered drinks and cake – was nice enough. The banana milkshake and chocolate cake were good. The breakfasts looked really good so might get that instead if we visit again.”
Another said: “Had a great time, really friendly staff, great interior decoration (love the NFL helmets on the ceiling) and good food. Couldn’t ask for anything more, will definitely go again.”
On the shop front, Cafe Rhubarb describes itself as offering “breakfasts, lunches, afternoon teas, homemade cakes, coffees, speciality teas, milkshakes, and a selection of wheat and gluten free cakes”.
