A popular US fast food chain has revealed its plans to open at a number of new locations across the UK. Slim Chickens opened its first UK branch in 2020 and has gained a steady following throughout the country due to its signature buttermilk-marinated tenders and crispy wings.
The chain, which originally launched in Arkansas in 2003, will open new branches in areas such as London, the northeast, the southeast, the Midlands, Wales, and Scotland. It is understood that the fast food chain plans to open two new restaurants every month throughout the rest of 2025.
Currently, there are 58 Slim Chickens stores across the UK, with the newest store landing in Bridgend, Wales. To celebrate the opening of the new stores, the chain is also offering 10,000 “Golden Tickets” to its customers which will give them the opportunity to win free chicken for a whole year.
At the new locations, customers will be able to enjoy a wide range of fried chicken option including tenders, boneless bites, and wraps.

Some customers have hailed Slim Chickens as the latest contender against KFC, with one TripAdvisor even hailing it as better than the aforementioned fast food chain. Wesley G wrote on TripAdvisor: “A better fast food outlet than KFC. Tenders are tasty and a large range of dips.
“Expensive for fast food, but fast and efficient with friendly helpful staff.”
