Viewers of The Masked Singer are seemingly united in their belief that Wolf’s “true” identity is none other than an ’80s pop legend, as the competition narrows down to the final seven.
The popular ITV series has crossed its midpoint, with celebrities donning elaborate disguises as they attempt to win the title. McFly’s Danny Jones took home the crown in the 2024 season as Piranha.
Panelists Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama, Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, along with host Joel Dommett, are all back on the quest to deduce the personalities behind the masks.
During the latest episode on Saturday night, fans flocked to social media platforms to share their theories about the identities of the remaining masked contestants. Wolf appeared to stealing the limelight after fans spotted one major clue.
While there are occasional disagreements, the majority seem certain that a hugely famous Scottish singer is masquerading as Wolf, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Marti Pellow’s name is being bounded around online platforms and he is the renowned frontman of Wet Wet Wet, a band that enjoyed great success from their formation in 1982 until they parted ways in 1997, only to reunite in 2004 before Marti’s departure in 2017.
On the platform X, previously known as Twitter, one user commented: “Hmm now Wolf sounds a lot like Marti Pellow this week.” A second speculated: “Who else had a song called Angel Eyes…Wet Wet Wet. Wolf is Marti Pellow. He hardly disguised his voice tonight.”

Another weighed in on the mystery singer debate, convinced about the identity of one performer: “I’ve said it’s Marti Pellow since I heard the first few lines sung weeks ago. Never once been mentioned by the panel, then tonight when Maya said Angel Eyes I thought at last. Then she said ABBA, I give up.”
A fourth social media commentator penned with a touch of humour: “WOLF IS DEFFO MARTI PELLOW! ! ! ! Can hear it clear as day, this panel must be deaf” and punctuating the tweet with a laughing emoji.

Marti previously formed part of the hit band Wet Wet Wet, with the group dominating the charts throughout the 80s and 90s.
The Scottish stars released tracks like Sweet Surrender, Goodnight Girl, Angel Eyes and the infamous cover of Love Is All Around – originally sang by the Troggs.
In a past interview with Metro, Marti was relieved when Troggs’ lead singer Reg Presley, gave him the seal of approval. He said: “I remember playing the song for Reg, he came to see me when we were on tour.”
The singer recalled: “I remember he took me aside and he was quite emotional,” he told Marti: “‘I love what you’ve done with our song’. And for me, that was a big compliment purely from the point of view that I wear that song and the same way that he did. It’s part of my makeup.”
The Masked Singer returns to ITV1, this Saturday from 7pm.
