The Met Office has said that parts of Northern Ireland will plummet below freezing on Saturday night.
Under prolonged clear spells tonight, mainly in the west, temperatures will fall to around -2C or -3C, a Met Office spokesperson explained.
“Where it stays cloudy, mainly in the east, they will be nearer +3C.”
NI Traffic Watch said there was a chance of temperatures dropping below freezing in parts of the province.
“Salting of affected roads on the scheduled network is planned for this evening,” a post added.
“Road users are advised to exercise caution when travelling, particularly when driving on untreated roads.””
The general weather forecast for NI says that maximum temperatures tomorrow will be around 5-7C for most, with rather cloudy skies.
“Dry and mainly cloudy on Sunday,” it adds.
“Any showers across the east will die out this evening. Otherwise a dry and cold night with clear periods.
“On Sunday, some early brightness in the west. Otherwise a dry day with a good deal of cloud. Light winds. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
“The outlook for Monday to Wednesday is a few showers on Tuesday otherwise a dry but often rather cloudy few days. Rather cold.”
