A 22-year-old Toronto man faces a slew of charges after a streetside electronics deal gone bad.

In a news release issued Friday, Toronto Police said it’s alleged the accused arranged to meet the victim on Saturday in the Broadway Ave.-Yonge St. area to purchase an electronic device through an online marketplace.

Police said the accused emailed the victim a fraudulent e-transfer banking transaction receipt that indicated the payment had been made.

Believing they had been paid, the victim turned over the electronic device to the accused but later learned they had not been paid.

Police also alleged that on the next day, Sunday, at about 11:30 p.m., the accused arranged to meet the victim to purchase an electronic device through an online marketplace in the Dufferin St.-Yorkdale Rd. area.

During the transaction, officers arrested the accused.

Police alleged that officers located a firearm, a loaded extended magazine with ammunition, and a quantity of fentanyl.

Savi Phillip has been charged with obtain by false pretence/not exceeding $5,000, fail to comply with release order, use/handle/store firearm carelessly, possess firearm without4 holding a licence, possess firearm obtained by crime, occupy motor vehicle with firearm, possess weapon/dangerous to public peace, unlicenced person possess prohibited/restricted weapon, possess prohibited/restricted weapon or prohibited device knowing no authority, use/handle/store ammunition carelessly, alter cartridge magazine, unlawfully possess schedule I substance, and possession/sale etc. for use in production/trafficking of schedule I substance.

Police are concerned there may be more victims. An image of the accused has been released.
