A bar and spirits shop in South Bristol has won the award for Best Newcomer at the National Drinks Retailing Awards. Spirited, which is located on North Street in Bedminster and is known for hosting an annual drinks festival dedicated to locally made spirits, was awarded the prize on February 4.
Taking to Instagram, the team shared a heartfelt message to its followers, which read: “We are absolutely delighted to have won Best Newcomer at The Drinks Retailing Awards last night! Huge thanks to Drinks Retailing, The Dorchester, all our amazing staff, suppliers and customers.
“Massive congratulations to all the other winners and nominees… Truly lovely to spend the evening with so many wonderful people from the drinks industry and an absolute honour to win an award. Thank you!”
Spirited was founded by Katy Kennedy, who also founded the annual drinks festival Spirit of the South West, described as being the ‘only festival dedicated exclusively to spirits producers from the region’. The Spirited shop specialises in spirits, with a particular focus on whisky, boasting a selection of over 100, including Scotch, Japanese, Irish, American and other world whiskies. A huge selection of rum, gin, tequila, mezcal, other spirits, liqueurs and wine are also available.

While a second wrote: “Well isn’t this tremendous news. And absolutely deserved!” And a third commented: “I can’t like this enough!”
