Two Richmond Hill health-care workers who are married face multiple fraud-related offences in Newmarket after allegedly bilking a senior out of $1 million.
York Regional Police say on Aug. 22, an elderly victim told them a large amount of money had been withdrawn from their bank account without their knowledge.
Cops allege two suspects, one of whom worked for the victim, accessed their banking information and attended various financial institutions and withdrew nearly $1 million.
On Thursday, Juvie Maputol, 38, employed as a personal support worker for the victim, was arrested on 17 charges. Lloyd Maputol, 37, employed as a registered nurse, faces three charges.
