In its announcement, the party did not specify the reasons Coderre’s candidacy had been rejected, other than to note it informed him his application could not be considered. The party ended its announcement by saying Coderre has five days to appeal its decision and it has no further comment to make on the issue.
Coderre’s proposed candidacy had been plagued with reports of tax issues with the federal and provincial governments, problems he maintained he was in the process of solving.
