Tesco Clubcard members might spot some major changes as the high street supermarket is choosing shoppers to test out their new application. The Your Clubcard Prices scheme will offer customers personalised offers based on their previous shopping habits.
Selected customers taking part in the trial will get Your Clubcard Prices deals every Wednesday in their Tesco app. They can then purchase products multiple times with the offer, however, these discounts will only be valid for seven days.
These will be automatically added to your Clubcard account if you’re part of the trial, according to the Mirror. Shoppers can scan or tap their Clubcard at checkout as usual to get the extra discounts.
The offers are also only available in larger Tesco stores. Express convenience stores and the Tesco website are excluded.
While the loyalty scheme currently has 20 million members, the high street supermarket hasn’t yet revealed how many shoppers will be taking part in their trial. It also hasn’t been confirmed how long the trial will last.
A spokesperson said: “We are currently offering Your Clubcard Prices to a trial group of our Clubcard members, giving them offers on products they regularly buy at Tesco, in addition to the thousands of Clubcard Prices available to all Clubcard members each week.”
This trial is similar to the personalised discounts and vouchers offered by other supermarkets currently. Lidl Plus members and Nectar card holders can get offers based on their purchase history while M&S shoppers using a Sparks Card can get personalised discounts.
The Clubcard trial comes just after Tesco added more same-day delivery slots to over 400 stores. While home deliveries used to start heading out at 7pm, these will now start at 1pm to give customers more flexibility and opportunity to get their groceries when needed.
Similarly, click and collect customers will now be able to pick-up their groceries starting at 12pm instead of 4pm. Shoppers will only be able to amend their order before 8:45am on the day of delivery though.
