Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon has furiously lashed out at the Tories in a blistering rant on GBN America.

Speaking to Steven Edginton on the People’s Channel, Bannon said the Tories failed to harness the opportunities of Brexit after Britons voted to leave the European Union in 2016.

He said the party is ‘controlled opposition’ and a wave of populist sentiment is needed in Britain to ensure a wave of prosperity.

“They’re p******. You guys know this in England. The Tories were in power for 14 years”, he said on GBN America.

“Look what happened. Look at immigration and all the money that went to Ukraine.

“Everything that could have been done, particularly after Brexit, to basically make Britain great again, to reinvest money, right now, financially and economically outside of London, the rest of the hinterlands is kind of a third-world country.

“It’s not Tories or Labour or Liberals, those are all old, misdirected concepts.

“It is populist nationalists that believes in the citizens of the country and the country itself and they must focus on what is best of the country but instead you have elite globalists.”

The Tories were put to the sword at the general election in July last year with the electorate voting convincingly in favour of booting them out of government.

Kemi Badenoch is now faced with the tricky task of turning the party around and has suffered a series of polling blows in recent months.

Nigel Farage’s insurgent Reform UK topped a YouGov poll this week for the first time, establishing itself as a major player in the British political landscape.

The party has overtaken the Conservatives in every major poll by at least one point, and former Tory deputy chairman Jonathan Gullis said on GB News this week his party must adapt or die.

He cautioned that Reform’s surge was inevitable, saying: “Reform are benefiting from not being Labour nor being Conservative.”

“Kemi Badenoch’s only been in the job for a couple of months and it’s going to take time for her to come up with policy,” Gullis added.

He urged Conservative MPs not to panic, warning that infighting would be “a further gift to Reform.”

Reform now claims to have tens of thousands more party members than the Conservatives, underlining its growing influence.

The party’s appeal extends beyond traditional Conservative voters, with 89 of the 98 seats where Reform came second in July being held by Labour MPs.
