Former Gladiators star Jet, whose real name is Diane Youdale, has addressed her ex-wife’s claims that she had “attacked” her after being “pushed over the edge”.

The 1990s star, who found fame on the iconic game show, which has since been revived with new athletes, recently split from Zoe Gilbert, whom she was married to for 18 months.

Jet claimed she developed an alcohol problem during her marriage to Gilbert and “snapped” during a heated row, but argues her ex has lied about things she has accused her of.

She also accused the 50-year-old of turning her own family against her and that the turbulent marriage had left her “suicidal”.

Jet met Gilbert at supermarket Tesco, but the TV personality now believes the chance meeting was orchestrated by her ex.

The fitness guru, who now also works as a counsellor and exercise coach, heartbreakingly told MailOnline: “She never loved me… I was hoodwinked.”

“I was bait, I feel baited, I feel like I was chased by a wolf. I was absolutely played and now she’s trying to make herself famous because of it,” she went on to tell the publication.

Detailing the moment the police were called when she had finally had enough, she explained: “Eventually, I snapped.

“She fell over the back of the sofa. I pressed on her chest three times firmly and I said, ‘Stop this now.’

“I can’t remember what happened then. The next thing I knew I was being led out by the police.

“The living room was an absolute mess, there was coffee up the walls, writing all over the walls.

“She is claiming that I did all that, but I didn’t. I’m unsure what level of amnesia I must have had to block it out.”

The incident took place in 2023, at Gilbert’s North East home Jet had moved into during their relationship.

“I felt suicidal,” she detailed to the publication, adding: “She pushed me to the limit to suddenly make me the baddie, which is as clear as day now. She took pictures of her injuries, none of which I inflicted.

“She has claimed I picked her up at the top of the stairs and threw her down but if anything, I have a disc rupture.

“I would only lay hands on someone in rage if they were attacking a minor or an animal or in self-defence and I was never in self-defence around her. This was the final moment between us.”

Jet became a household name in 1992 on the sports game show, but was forced to leave the series in 1996 following a traumatic injury.

She suffered a near-fatal fall from the giant pyramid used in one of the segments during filming after leaning awkwardly following a tackle.

She has explained in the past how she “felt her neck crack” and was rushed to hospital.

Thankfully, she found she could soon move her fingers and toes again, but she had compressed her spinal cord and was lucky to be alive.
