What began as a report of a crash in Caledon turned into a 28-year-old man being charged in a stolen vehicle investigation on Wednesday.
Caledon OPP said officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch on Heart Lake Rd. Near Charleston Sideroad just before 6 a.m.
During the investigation, police determined the vehicle has previously been reported as stolen.
The occupant – Gurpreet Singh, of no fixed address – was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and possession of break-in instruments.
VAUGHAN BOY, 15, CHARGED WITH SECOND-DEGREE MURDER
A 15-year-old Vaughan boy has been charged with second-degree murder following a suspicious death in that city on Thursday morning.
York Regional Police said officers responded at about 9:20 a.m. to a residence on Camino Dr., in the Rutherford Rd.-Jane St. Area.
A woman was found suffering from critical injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
A suspect was taken into custody at the scene and investigators are not looking for any additional suspects.
The youth who was charged can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

MAN CHARGED FOR THREATS AT DEMONSTRATION
A 63-year-old man has been charged with uttering threats following an incident at a demonstration in the Bathurst St.-Sheppard Ave. Area.
Toronto Police allege that at about 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 26 the accused uttered threats to cause bodily harm towards a counter-demonstrator.
Auston Shapiro, of Toronto, was arrested and charged on Tuesday.

GEORGINA MAN SOUGHT FOR ASSAULT, POSSESSING WEAPONS
A 34-year-old Georgina man is wanted for assault and firearms possession contrary to three prohibition orders.
York Regional Police said officers were called on Monday at 9:45 p.m. to a motel in the Hwy. 48-Thomas Dr. Area in Georgina for reports of an assault.
Police said officers arrived to learn that the victim had allegedly been assaulted by a man who was believed to be in possession of a firearm.
A warrant was executed on Tuesday at a unit associated with a suspect. Investigators allegedly found ammunition for a firearm and a quantity of substances believed to be cocaine and methamphetamine.
Investigators have released an image of Kariym White, who is wanted for numerous offences including assault, three counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, two counts of breach of probation, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime.
At the time of the incident, police said White was on three weapons prohibition orders and a probation order for unrelated offences.
He is considered armed and dangerous, If seen, citizens are urged not to approach him but to call police immediately.

TWO CHARGED IN PICKERING VEHICLE THEFT
Two men face charges after a vehicle that had been left running was stolen in Pickering last weekend.
Durham Regional Police said officers responded on Sunday at about 1:30 a.m. to a restaurant in the Kingston Rd.-Valley Farm Rd. area for a vehicle that had just been stolen.
Police said the victim left his vehicle running while he went inside the business and two men entered the vehicle and fled.
Officers tracked the location of the vehicle and the empty vehicle was found in a parking lot in Scarborough.
With the help of York Regional Police Service’s AIR2, two suspects were located near the vehicle. The K9 team was deployed and both suspects were arrested, with the assistance of Toronto Police Service.
James Anthony, 43, of Pickering, is charged with theft of motor vehicle and failure to comply with a release order.
Jenson Conboy, 50, of no fixed address, is charged with theft of motor vehicle, obstructing a peace officer, aiding and abetting in a release order, and two counts of breach of probation.

WITNESSES, SUSPECT SOUGHT AFTER VAUGHAN BANK ROBBERY
Witnesses are sought after a bank in Vaughan was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday.
York Regional Police said officers responded at about 10:30 a.m. to a robbery at a bank in the Hwy. 7 W.-Marycroft Ave. area.
Cops said a man entered the bank and waited in line to speak with a teller. When he was called to the desk, the man demanded money and flashed a handgun.
The man fled with a quantity of money and was last seen walking south on Marycroft.
Cops are looking for a suspect who is described as about 40 years old and speaks with a Middle Eastern accent. He was wearing a burgundy jacket, black pants, black toque and a black medical mask.
The area is home to a busy intersection with plazas and heavy foot traffic.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen something suspicious, or to anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. that day.

FIREARM SEIZED DURING WHITBY TRAFFIC STOP
Three people face charges after cops allegedly seized a firearm during a proactive traffic stop in Whitby on Wednesday.
Durham Reginal Police said officers were proactively patrolling the Thickson and Taunton Rds. area when they conducted a traffic stop on a southbound sedan.
While speaking with the occupants, officers allegedly detected an odour of cannabis. Further investigation resulted in the vehicle and occupants being search and a firearm, ammunition and drugs were allegedly seized.
Keiran Runciman, 21, of Whitby, Kayla Torchia, 22, of Whitby, and Brenna Harvey, 20, of Scugog, are charged with various offences.
