Viewers of BBC’s The Apprentice were squirming with discomfort as they endured what many called the “worst episode yet” this week.

The 6th February instalment brought the aspirants to London’s Frameless Immersive Art Experience for their latest challenge.

The candidates’ mission was to create a virtual pop sensation, complete with a recorded single and an accompanying music video, before seeking sponsorship at a launch event. Victory hinged on who could generate the most revenue.

One squad opted for a Taylor Swift-esque icon, standing as a beacon of female empowerment set to influence countless women. The rival team, meanwhile, converged on a rap figure extolling hustle culture – a mindset that glorifies ceaseless work and career dominance above life’s other facets.

One half of the teams focused on branding while the others, at the acclaimed Tileyard Studios, worked on crafting a musical hit.

Tre Lowe, a familiar face from last year’s series, lent his expertise to ensure chart-topping potential, though some hopefuls took a stab at belting out their own tunes.

Regrettably, fans were far from impressed, flooding X (the new Twitter) with their critiques. One disheartened fan declared, “This just might be the worst episode of #TheApprentice I’ve ever watched in my life,” reports the Mirror.

Viewers of The Apprentice were left in stitches – and some almost choking on their tea – after witnessing the latest challenge.

Fans took to social media to share their reactions, with one commenting: “Nearly spat my tea with that singing,” and another saying: “Watching #TheApprentice… I don’t think I’ve ever cringed so hard in my life my toes are permanently curled.”

Another watcher sympathised with the show’s participants: “Imagine having to sit in that Boardroom listening to these songs. I feel sorry for absolutely everyone involved in this task and the crew filming it. So much collective embarrassment.”

However, the aspiring entrepreneurs couldn’t impress the investors with their rap act due to its heavy emphasis on cash, leading to a cold reception.

Ultimately, Lord Sugar dismissed Aoibheann Walsh from the competition because he believed her contributions had been lacking.
