Donald Trump is set to make history this Sunday as the first sitting US president to attend a Super Bowl.
The White House has confirmed his attendance at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on 9 February.
Trump will also feature in Fox’s coverage of the event, with a pre-recorded interview with chief political anchor Bret Baier set to air during the pregame build-up.
The interview, recorded at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, will focus on his administration’s changes since taking office.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has expressed honour at Trump’s planned attendance, despite previous tensions with girlfriend Taylor Swift.
“It’s a great honour I think, no matter who the president is,” Kelce told reporters. “I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there – it’s the best country in the world so it’d be pretty cool.”
Trump had previously posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” on Truth Social after Swift endorsed his opponent Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also welcomed the president’s attendance at the historic game.
“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president. Someone that is at the top position in our country,” Mahomes told reporters.
The three-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback’s enthusiasm comes as the Chiefs prepare to pursue an unprecedented “three-peat” against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Superdome.
House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana native, is in talks to join Trump at Caesars Superdome, though the president’s full guest list is still being prepared.
The president’s presence will require enhanced security measures, particularly significant as the game takes place 39 days after an attack on Bourbon Street that killed 14 people and injured dozens more.

Trump won both Missouri and swing-state Pennsylvania in last year’s election, though it remains unclear if he will support either the Chiefs or Eagles.
Swift is expected to attend the game to support Kelce as he chases a historic third consecutive Super Bowl victory with the Chiefs.
The pop megastar, who has brought legions of new fans to the NFL since beginning her relationship with the 10-times Pro Bowler in 2023, was last seen supporting the Chiefs at their AFC Championship game last month.
The Super Bowl traditionally attracts numerous celebrities, with Swift, Lana Del Rey, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and the Kardashians all attending last year’s event.
