Hollywood star Michael Shannon is performing at Bristol’s Thekla later this year. He and his band are celebrating the 40th anniversary of R.E.M’s Fables of the Reconstruction album.
Michael Shannon & Jason Narducy and friends have announced a UK tour, and the famous 400-capacity boat venue on the harbour is one of the locations on the schedule.
The six-date tour begins in Manchester on August 19, before heading to Glasgow, London and Nottingham, and then wrapping up in Bristol on Tuesday, August 26. The tour will see Shannon & Narducy as well as drummer Jon Wurster, bassist Nick Macri, guitarist Dag Juhlin and keyboardist Vijay Tellis-Nayak perform Fables of the Reconstruction in full each night as well as some of R.E.M’s biggest hits.
Tickets are on sale now, and are priced from £32.50. When he’s not touring such music shows, Shannon is best known for being a two-time Academy Award nominated Hollywood actor, who has starred in films such as Man of Steel, Knives Out, Revolutionary Road, Nocturnal Animals, and Groundhog Day among others.
