A popular dim sum parlour has opened a second branch in Bristol – along one of the city’s most well known roads. Uncle Wah has opened a new venue at 193 Gloucester Road, in Bishopston.

The Chinese restaurant and dim sum parlour opened its first venue in the city last summer. Its first venue is located on North Street in Bedminster and opened its doors on July 12.

Signage appeared in October which teased the opening of a second venue and Uncle Wah has now opened its door on Gloucester Road. The unit was previously Native Vine, a natural wine shop and bar.

Whilst the North Street restaurant can host up to eight people at each table, the new site will only accommodate four people per booking. On Uncle Wah’s website, it cited the layout of the restaurant and that it is unable to combine tables.

Uncle Wah said via its website: “Our second location located on Gloucester Road, we bring you a symphony of flavours, crafted with love and tradition. From steaming baskets of dumplings to savoury bites of culinary expertise, our menu is a celebration of authentic dim sum, designed to tempt your taste buds.”

The restaurant is open five days a week, from Wednesday to Sunday. The opening hours are listed as from 12pm to 10pm Wednesday to Saturday and 12pm to 9pm on Sundays.

Uncle Wah is known for its twists on Chinese classics, including dumplings, noodle and rice dishes. The menu also includes bao buns, milkshakes and Chinese tea.
