A 19-year-old has now been charged in a 2022 home invasion in Caledon — but he can’t be identified because he was a youth at the time.

Ontario Provincial Police are still hunting four other suspects in the violent crime.

Caledon OPP responded to a call for a home invasion in progress on Dougall Ave., near Kennedy Rd., just before 11 p.m. on Oct. 8, 2022.

Officers arrived minutes later but the home invaders had already fled the scene.

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the residence was forcibly entered and valuables were demanded,” Const. Joe Brisbois said in a statement Wednesday, explaining “minor injuries” were suffered during the incident.

Days after the home invasion, investigators released images of suspects and of two suspect vehicles sought.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old Brampton man was arrested on Monday and charged with armed robbery, breaking-and-entering, committing an indictable offence, two counts of assault, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, wearing a disguise with intent, and carrying a concealed weapon.

The accused, who was held in custody for a bail hearing in Orangeville, can’t be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act because he was under 18 at the time.
