A Home Bargains shopper has credited a £2 shampoo with transforming her hair, claiming it has “never felt better” since she made the switch.
Sharing her experience on TikTok as @Jessmcg_, she revealed how she discovered the budget-friendly gem after following advice from a haircare specialist. The Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo, priced at just £1.99, has become her go-to choice, prompting her to ditch her high-end shampoos.
In one of her videos, Jess takes her followers on a shopping trip to Home Bargains, where she stocks up on the Dove shampoo. She said: “Come along with me. We’re going to need a trolley for this one because I’m not holding back.
As she grabbed the shampoo, she added: “I did actually need to grab a few bits I’d run out of, one of the things being this Dove shampoo. I absolutely swear by it. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.”
As reports the Liverpool Echo, Jess credits a trichologist, a hair and scalp expert, who recommended the product on TikTok, for introducing her to the game-changing solution. “Since following her recommendations my hair has never felt better. I’ve ditched a lot of my high-end shampoos,” she said.
In addition to the Dove shampoo, Jess uses a clarifying shampoo once a week and also picks up a Pantene Keratin Shampoo during her shopping trip. Trichologist Abbey Yung, who shares her expertise on TikTok under the handle @Abbeyyung, has given a big thumbs-up to Dove Intensive Repair for hair in need of some extra care.
She said: “Dove Intensive Repair is hands down the most unsexy shampoo and conditioner that I recommend.”
“Like, I was even sketched out to try this the first time strictly because of the packaging, but I’m so glad that I did because the ingredients are incredible for damaged hair and my hair feels amazing after I use these.”
On the official Dove website, the Intensive Repair shampoo is promoted as a remedy that fortifies damaged hair “from within”. It boasts Smart Target Technology aimed at pinpointing and mending damage, along with Fibre Repair Actives designed to “reconstruct inner hair fibre”.
While the Dove Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner aren’t currently listed on Home Bargains’ website, eager customers can locate their nearest shop using the store finder feature online.
