B&M fans are raving over a “genius” home addition – and it’s the price tag that’s turning heads.
Low-cost retailer B&M, acclaimed for its wide variety of wallet-friendly products ranging from food and beverages to DIY essentials, accessories, furniture, and much more, keeps its loyal customer base in the loop with all the latest offerings via social media.
In one of its recent Instagram posts, B&M impressed followers with a video showing off its latest product: wireless, battery-operated table lamps perfect for illuminating any corner at home without the hassle of socket connections.
Available with either a contemporary sage green or a versatile black base topped with a linen-effect lampshade, the lamps just need three AA batteries to light up your space.
In the caption accompanying the product reveal, B&M said: “Light up literally any corner of your home with these NEW cordless lamps, only £12!! These battery-powered beauties are all about style, convenience, and no MESSY wires!”
This post quickly gathered upwards of 1,000 likes in under a day, attracting numerous eager customers to the comment section to express their excitement. Responses ranged from a simple “wow” to others sharing more detail: “They are such a great idea and a bargain”.
Further comments included enthusiastic shoppers remarking “love these” and “omg need”. One enamoured shopper said: “Omg amazing!! Love that you stock these now”.
Another enthusiast was eager to join the hunt: “Okay, I’m obsessed! What a GENIUS idea. I need one for my kitchen.” A fellow shopper concurred: “Now the search is on to actually find them.”
On the other hand, some customers offered a more critical perspective on the product. One individual opined: “Would’ve been better if it was USB for recharging”, while another, claiming to have purchased and used the item, shared: “I have these and they’re great for about a day and then go really dull.”
Despite this, many fans remained undeterred. One enthusiast tagged a friend and said: “I desperately NEED the green one if you go before me”, while another lamented: “Not that any of my local stores have them. Absolutely terrible in the south west!” Multiple shoppers tagged their friends to steer them towards B&M’s post.
The cherished British retailer, founded by Malcolm Billington and Brian Mayman, first opened its doors in Cleveleys, Lancashire, back in 1978. Its now-famous moniker originates from its founders, although it was initially known as Billington and Mayman before being shortened to B&M.
Since its inception in the 70s, the company has expanded and now boasts over 880 stores in the UK, in addition to 104 stores in France.
