Sir Tom Jones has shared a poignant post online to mark a major milestone in his lengthy musical career.
The Voice star Jones, 84, marked 60 years since the release of his breakout song as he thanked fans and reflected on the “wonderful life” he has created.
Taking to Instagram recently, shared some throwback footage of himself singing what has become one of this signature tracks.
In a heartfelt caption alongside the clip, he penned: “60 years ago I released It’s Not Unusual, and what a ride it’s been!
“Back then I would never have believed this one tune would have led on to such a wonderful life and career, full of music, fantastic people and touring all over the world.
“None of this would have been possible without the enduring support from my fans from day one, so thank you, you are sincerely loved and appreciated.”

Signing off the post, he added: “To celebrate, I’d like to share a rare performance of the song from my sixties TV show THIS IS TOM JONES, which is you can enjoy now on my YouTube channel.
“Check it out, it’s great fun to see the style and energy of those times. So here’s to music, the stage and YOU!”
The song was Jones’ second overseas hit, and the first to break in the United States. During the mid-1990s, the track saw a resurgence after becoming an ongoing feature in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Taking to the comments in the post, fans shared their own memories of the song as they celebrated with the Sexbomb hit-maker.
“It was released six months before I was born, yet our family had it on all the time and I play it once a day still!!!” one penned.
A second shared: “I actually watched this when I was 10 years old! Like many, a forever fan. You are an amazing voice and it’s thrilling to see how far you’ve come. Prayers for many more years of great music.”
“The best entertainer of my lifetime,” a third applauded, while someone else recalled: “I was a young mother of four. We watched your TV show. I wouldn’t miss it!!

In another recent post, Jones sparked concern from fans as he shared news about an upcoming tour.
He penned on his Instagram: “Thrilled to announce my band and I will be touring the States and Canada this Spring! I’m very much looking forward to be performing again for you all, see you along the road soon!”
Despite Jones’ continuing career after several decades in the industry, some explained they felt it was time for him to step away from the grueling concerts and touring.
“It’s such a worry that you’re over doing it, it must be so tiring doing those gigs….and you have to save some energy for touring here in the UK,” one person wrote in the comments, with many more sharing the sentiment.
