Police in Bristol faced a number of incidents where officers were attacked last night, with one person attempting to bite an officer. Officers responded to multiple incidents in Bristol where people were violent towards the police.
Police were called to Beauley Road in Southville at around 11pm last night (February 3) after an altercation broke out between a man and a woman. One man was found by officers and was arrested on suspicion of theft.
He was then further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker. The man remains in police custody at the time of reporting.
Sergeant Joe Iles posted on social media: “Emergency activation for an officer in need of assistance. Attended alongside colleagues to support the arrest and transportation of a suspect following an assault on officers in Southville.”
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called to Beauley Road, in Southville, Bristol, at around 11pm yesterday (Monday 3 February) following a report of an altercation between a man and woman.
“Officers located and arrested a man on suspicion of theft. He was then further arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.
“He remains in police custody.”
Avon and Somerset Police officers attended another incident in the city during the early hours of this morning .Around 1.45am today (February 4) police attempted to arrest a person in Bishopsworth. Officers required further help after a person resisted arrest and attempted to bite officers.
