Tuesday saw more union endorsements for the Progressive Conservatives.

All nine locals of the Ontario Sheet Metal Workers and Roofers Conference (OSMWRC) threw their support behind Ontario PC Leader Doug Ford on Tuesday, a move the union said aligns with the party’s stance against the U.S. tariff threats.

In these uncertain economic times, we need leadership that prioritizes stability, job security and strong protections for workers,” said union spokesperson Mark Hall.

“Doug Ford has demonstrated a clear dedication to building Ontario’s future while safeguarding the livelihoods of hardworking tradespeople across the province.”

Tuesday also saw their second endorsement from Unifor, this time from Local 29X, which represents Expertech contract technicians for Bell Canada.

That’s the second Unifor local to back the PCs, after Local 1285 — representing auto workers in Brampton — offered their endorsement.

On Sunday, the party scored its first endorsement from a public-sector union when the Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association threw its support behind the Progressive Conservatives.
