Silent Witness is coming to and end on BBC One with the final two-parter titled I Believe In Love starting tonight, February 3. In the final story, six people killed when gunfire erupts from a Syrian pizza restaurant.

Nikki Alexander (played by Emilia Fox) and Jack Hodgson (David Caves) must work quickly to find the shooter before they strike again. CCTV footage helps identify a suspect, only he is found to have apparently killed himself using the same unusual bullets fired in the attack.

Part one of the story airs tonight, February 3, with the season finale airing the following night, February 4, at 9pm. While investigating yet another mystery, Nikki is busy window shopping for wedding dresses.

Sadly, for both Nikki and Jack, the nature of their work means they are unable to prioritise arrangements for such a momentous event.

Here is all we know so far about season 29 of the long-running drama.

Who is in the cast of Silent Witness season 29?

It has been confirmed Emilia Fox and David Caves will be back as newlyweds Nikki Alexander and Jack Hodgson.

Newcomers Harriet (played by Maggie Steed) and Kit (Francesca Mills) joined the cast for the latest season, so it is hoped they will return.

Each story also includes an extensive guest cast list featuring some huge names.

Emilia opened up on why she thinks the show is still so popular, telling TV Guide: “To look at solving crime with a lead female pathologist in a man’s world was inspired and original.

“Finding clues through the body was a new way of looking at crime solving, and it gave it a real humanity.

“In finding out how someone died, you learn about their life. A show about death makes you think about the meaning of life.

“It’s got more depth to it than just solving who did it. It’s got so many different layers looking at humanity.”

Silent Witness airs on BBC One on Monday, February 3 from 9pm
