Michelle Keegan has rejected false impressions about her so-called sparkling home life, asserting that it’s not as “polished” as people might believe.

The 37-year-old Brassic actress and her husband Mark Wright, 38, have faced criticism for flaunting their opulent lifestyle and luxury updates to their £3.5 million Essex mansion on social media.

They wed in 2015 and are now anticipating their first child, and Michelle has now offered a glimpse into their actual “boring” domestic world during an interview with Grazia.

She revealed a potential spat with the TOWIE star, saying she might confront him if she finds their house unchanged from its “complete mess” it was in earlier that day. Michelle explained: “Honestly, when I left this morning it was upside down, a complete mess. When I get home, if Mark hasn’t cleaned it, I’ll probably have a go at him and then do it myself.”

The ex-Coronation Street star dispelled the notion that fame governs their existence, expressing a preference for an ordinary life: “It’s very boring and probably quite basic, but that’s how I like it.”

Michelle also acknowledged the deceptive nature of social media compared to reality, commenting: “I know it probably doesn’t look like that. In the press, at awards or on Instagram, it might look polished from the outside..”

Mark playfully ribbed his wife on live radio amidst a furore over their lavish home renovations last year. The couple, who regularly update their multitude of fans on the progress of their expansive property, also once faced criticism for flaunting “gifted” Christmas decorations while others struggled with bills, reports Lancs Live.

But a source confided to OK! magazine: “They’re both very driven people and they work hard. That’s why they have the most beautiful home and they’re proud of it. They don’t care about the negative comments – they’ve learnt to ignore the hate.”

And in the recent Grazia interview, Michelle revealed that being “best friends” is the cornerstone of their marriage success. She also emphasised the importance of supporting each other’s careers, stating: “We never make each other feel bad about being away for work. And even though there has been negativity surrounding that in the press, we never let it affect our relationship.”
