Michael Reindorf has exclaimed that he’s “very excited” to have the opportunity to showcase his talents at Bristol Rovers after the Gas confirmed the capture of the 19-year-old striker on loan from Cardiff City.
The forward played against Rovers for the Bluebirds in their Carabao Cup clash back in August, having joined the South Wales outfit from Norwich City last summer.
Although he’s made just four appearances for the Championship side’s first-team, Reindorf has been prolific for their under-21s this campaign and is looking forward to getting the chance to play League One football.
“I’m very excited,” the 19-year-old told Rovers’ club media. “Bristol Rovers is a big club, and I feel like it’s time to show what I am capable of.
“Every weekend the boys go out there and try to play to the best of their abilities to get the result. I feel like being in front of the Memorial Stadium crowd is a big thing and I can’t wait.
“I think I’m quite hard working and I’ll run for the team until the end of the game. I like getting on the ball, I like making things happen and, at the end of the day, I’m a striker and I like scoring goals!”
According to reports elsewhere, a number of clubs had shown an interest in taking the striker on loan for the remainder of the season, including League Two side Notts County. However, Rovers were seemingly able to offer a stronger guarantee for game time while also being in League One.

Adding a striker to their ranks has been a priority for the Gas this window after losing Promise Omochere to a long-term hamstring injury. There are also concerns for Gatlin O’Donkor who seemingly also picked up a hamstring injury in Rovers’ 3-1 win over Peterborough United on Sunday.
Reindorf is the Gas’ fourth signing of the transfer window after the captures of Romaine Sawyers on a deal until the end of the season and Matt Butcher and Sil Swinkels on loan.
On securing the signature of the teenage striker, Inigo Calderon added: “I am delighted to welcome Michael to Bristol Rovers. Adding another player to our attack was important for us in this window but even more important was making sure we brought in the right sort of player and character.
