Kanye West’s wife Bianca Censori made a bold fashion statement on the red carpet prior to Sunday night’s Grammys.
The architectural designer and model was accompanying her husband, who was up for best rap song, in a black fur coat. But as the two posed for photographers, Censori, 30, dropped her floor-length jacket and stood alongside West, 47, in nothing more than a see-through nude mini dress.
“No way Bianca Censori just showed up to the Grammys like that,” one viewer wrote on X after video of their appearance went viral. “She is deada– naked.”
Meanwhile, other commenters accused West of forcing his wife to show off her body by donning the revealing outfit.
“Can someone explain why this is cool?” one person asked. “Because to me, it’s giving exploitation, trafficking. It’s so weird and he objectifies her in front of the world. Someone help her, jeez.”
“Is indecent exposure no longer a law?” another person echoed. “How is Bianca Censori dressing like Eve before the fall at a public event?”
“Bianca Censori is a frightened and abused woman,” a fourth chimed. “Don’t look at her naked body that is being paraded around by a toxic abusive man. Look at her eyes. He has destroyed her soul.”
Another called Censori a “POSTER child for abuse.”
“This looks like CONTROL, someone broken down mentally and emotionally & if this is the case, I hope she & anyone else in this type of situation gets the help they need,” they wrote.
“Kanye is emotionally and financially abusing her. Of that I’m certain,” one Redditor added.
West’s appearance at the Grammys marked the first time he attended the awards show in a decade.
After the two weren’t spotted in their seats during the show, one insider told Page Six that the pair was escorted out after “the crazy outfit moment they pulled on the carpet.”
But a second source speaking to the outlet and Variety said that rumours the couple were given the boot were “not true” and the pair left on their own.
“He walked the red carpet and then got in his car and left got in his car and left,” they said.
Before Censori dropped her full-length coat, a lip reader revealed what West allegedly said to her.
After watching footage shared by CBS Mornings, Nicola Hickling told the Daily Mail Monday morning that West told Censori to start “making a scene now.”
“Make a scene,” Hickling says West said. “Drop (the coat) behind you and then turn, I got you.”
According to Hickling Censori replied, “All right, let’s go.”
Insiders told the Daily Mail that West was spoken to over the incident after reps for CBS — the network that aired the broadcast — aired concerns that it could be fined over Censori’s display.
“Everyone looked at them like they were crazy and the word is that he tried to create a major publicity stunt because he is worried he isn’t the centre of attention anymore,” the source told the outlet.
“The organizers were informed about her outfit minutes after she got on the red carpet and sent someone to tell his team that they had to go because they could have been hit with massive issues if they pulled a stunt like this on air.”
West himself was also told that he could be sued by the network.
Several insiders claimed that the twosome were trying to capture some of the limelight after West’s racist outbursts caused him to lose high-profile business partnerships with Adidas, Gap and Balenciaga.
“The plan was to get into the ceremony and cause a scene there,” one person said.
“They were told that there was a dress code which required nothing obscene and no nudity so they were advised not to come in,” another added.
Last year, West and Censori were banned by a Venetian boat company after the rapper bared his backside on one of their vessels.
“Mr. West and his wife will certainly no longer be welcome on board our company’s boats,” a rep told Daily Mail Australia.
After his split from ex-wife Kim Kardashian in 2021, West briefly dated actress Julia Fox, who alluded to his controlling nature in her 2023 bio Down The Drain.
Referring to West as ‘The Artist,’ Fox said she felt she was treated like a “show monkey” and recounted how he offered to pay for her to get a “boob job.”
“I can tell the artist is elated by the amount of attention our relationship has been getting, but I feel vulnerable and exposed,” Fox wrote (per USA Today). “I’m spread so thin between my son and the demands of the artist that I don’t have time to enjoy any of it.”
She described the short-lived relationship as “nothing more than a publicity stunt.”
“I feel like he’s using me in some weird, twisted game. It makes me feel dirty,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, after their break-up, Kardashian spoke about West’s heavy-handed influence on how she dressed.
“I got to a point where I would ask him for advice for everything — down to what I wear. Even now I’m having panic attacks like, what do I wear?” she recalled on an episode of The Kardashians.
In the past Censori’s friends have warned her about West and told her to “wake the f— up” when it comes to his behaviour.
In 2023, a source told the Daily Mail that Censori was “starting to see through the smoky mirrors of her marriage” and was “aware of Kanye’s controlling ways.” But despite rumblings that their relationship was in trouble the couple has remained together.
