The Masked Singer UK star Grayson Perry has revealed he let his identity slip after a friend’s discovery.

The artist shocked fans of the ITV competition show as he was unveiled as Kingfisher on Saturday night (February 1).

Despite not being a professional singer, Grayson outlasted seasoned voices like Macy Gray and Carol Decker from T’Pau, stirring quite the reaction amongst viewers.

Post-elimination, Grayson joined Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on This Morning to chat on Monday (February 3).

He spilled the beans on how his daughter had sussed him out after her girlfriend stumbled upon a video clip online, reports the Mirror.

“A couple of people, my wife knew, my sister knew. My daughter guessed because her girlfriend in the middle of the night was scrolling and came across it, she knew from karaoke whose voice that was,” he divulged during the interview.

Cat highlighted Grayson’s achievement over professional vocalists, saying, “You must be proud,” to which Grayson retorted, “I am, but I’m also under no illusion that it’s a singing contest.”

The revelation left fans who had pegged Harry Hill as the Kingfisher astounded. Grayson, having a bit of a laugh about the mix-up, admitted: “I was playing that up massively because I know Harry Hill. I was playing, it’s fun, it’s a game! I thought I’d play the role of being a TV comedian!”

The latest instalment of The Masked Singer saw a double elimination, with Andrea Corr, the lead singer of The Corrs, also revealed as Snail – leaving the judges stunned.

“It was brilliant. It was amazing. I was looking forward to singing the other songs but listen, I’ve had such a good time. It’s been such a joy to do,” Andrea shared on The After Mask.

With only five contestants remaining – Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Pufferfish, and Wolf – the competition is heating up.

The semi-final is set to air this Saturday (February 8) at 7pm on ITV1, with a special guest judge, Richard E Grant, joining the panel in place of Mo Gilligan, who is currently on tour.
