Famous actresses have been spotted in Bristol as filming for a new TV series took place in Bristol. The filming is for Down Cemetery Road, a series developed for Apple TV+ which has been filming in Bristol since June.
The series is based on the novel of the same name, written by Mick Herron. Set in Oxford, a woman hires an investigator after an explosion and a girl goes missing on the same night.
The two main leads of the series, Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson, were spotted near Baltic Wharf, in the Harbourside, on Friday (January 31) preparing to shoot a scene in front of a green screen. The actresses were positioned on a boat with crew to the right.
In the photo, Ruth Wilson (known for roles in Luther, The Affair and His Dark Materials) is seen talking to Emma Thompson (known for roles in Love Actually, the Harry Potter series and Sense and Sensibility). Thompson is listed as an executive producer of the series.

The thriller is directed by Natalie Bailey and the screenplay is written by Morwenna Banks. The series also stars Adeel Akhtar, Tom Goodman-Hill, Sinead Matthews, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett and Darren Boyd in supporting roles.
Since filming began at the University of Bristol in June, the series has been filmed at locations including Corn Street and at College Green. Down Cemetery Road is produced by 60Forty Films and is expected to be released sometime this year.
