An air ambulance landed on school grounds after a boy was stabbed at a school in the UK. Police say that at 12.17pm today (Monday, February 3) they received reports of a stabbing at All Saints Catholic High School on Granville Road in Sheffield.
A 15-year-old boy is “en route to hospital with serious injuries”, South Yorkshire Police said in a statement issued at 1.45pm. Officer say his family are aware. A teenage boy has been detained by police.
Emergency services are on scene and YorkshireLive report an air ambulance attended. The school grounds currently remain closed.
There is disruption locally on the roads as a result. Granville Road is closed from the tram stop to Fitzwalter Road.
Police are urging people to avoid the area while emergency services carry out their work. The force said: “We would like to reassure parents of pupils that we do not deem there to be a further risk at the school and further updates will be shared when possible.”
