Two people are now accused of killing a 27-year-old man – the city’s first murder victim of the year – in the Annex last weekend.
Toronto Police say officers responded to the area of Bloor St. W. and Madison Ave., east of Spadina Rd., just after 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 26 and found the victim suffering from “severe injuries.”
First aid was administered at the scene and the man was then transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
He has been identified as Darapheakdey “Daral” Sovann, 27, of Toronto.
Homicide investigators subsequently identified and arrested two suspects – a woman and a man – for the killing.
Brooklynn Walsh, 24, and Cameron Brown, 21, both of Oshawa, are each charged with second-degree murder.
“There are no outstanding suspects in relation to this homicide,” Const. Laurie McCann said in a statement released Saturday.
Anyone with information regarding this murder is urged to call the Homicide Unit at 416-808-7400 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
