The Masked Singer, the most unpredictable show on television, returned to our screens on Saturday night (February 1), featuring a double elimination.
The remaining disguised celebrities, including Bush, Dressed Crab, Wolf, Kingfisher and Snail, took to the stage to showcase their singing talents while keeping their identities hidden.
Joel Dommett resumed his hosting duties, joined by judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Maya Jama and Mo Gilligan, who worked together to guess the celebrities beneath the extravagant costumes. So far, viewers have seen Toad In The Hole revealed as Macy Gray, Pegasus as Prue Leith, Spag Bol as Kate Garraway, Carol Decker as Tattoo and Mel Giedroyc as Teeth.
However, in a shocking twist during Saturday’s episode (February 1), not one but two celebrities were eliminated. Kingfisher, who received the fewest votes, was unmasked as comedian and artist Sir Grayson Perry.
He told the judges and hosts that he had a “lovely time embracing the spirit of the show”. Later, Snail was revealed to be Andrea Corr, the Irish singer who rose to fame with her three older siblings in The Corrs.
“I had such a good time, everyone’s been lovely, it’s been really joyous. I wanted to do it for the children,” Andrea expressed after being unmasked, reports the Express.
In another segment of the show, contestant Pufferfish sparked a flurry of speculation after a significant clue was revealed. During their VT, a photo of Coronation Street icon Helen Worth – known for her role as Gail Platt – was displayed.
This has led fans to speculate that Pufferfish could be Kym Marsh, another star from the ITV soap. This is a developing TV story and will be updated regularly.
