A teenage pedestrian has suffered serious injuries in a taxi crash in a busy area of Bristol city centre. The young man suffered head and leg injuries after colliding with the vehicle in Park Street last night, January 31.
The crash happened at about 9.50pm. A police cordon remained in place for over two hours while an investigation of the scene was carried out. Police are now asking for any witnesses or people with dashcam footage to come forward which can assist with the investigation.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “A pedestrian was taken to hospital after a collision with a taxi in Bristol last night, Friday, January 31. It happened at approximately 9.50pm in Park Street, near the junction with Charlotte Street.
“A man, in his late teens, sustained head and leg injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. The taxi driver remained at the scene and has been assisting us with our enquiries.
“Park Street was closed while emergency services attended the scene but was reopened at about 12.15am. CCTV footage has been reviewed as part of our investigation, but we’d please ask any witnesses or motorists with dashcam that have not yet made themselves known to police to contact us online or on 101 quoting reference number 5225027470.”
