PROUD TO BE CANADIAN
Recommended Videos
I am an older Canadian. I told a friend recently that I was not and have a hard time being a proud Canadian. He responded, yes but you are loyal. That helped me a lot. Without a doubt, it’s the state of our country for countless reasons. Steve Simmons’ column on Jan. 28 was a catharsis (“We stand on guard”). I am a big sports fan and read Steve’s work religiously, whether I agree or not, full disclosure. It’s been a while for my pride to reassert itself — it’s back. Steve tied together athletic achievements, pride in our unique character over decades of history. The reference to the CFL having nine teams when the NHL only had six, plus two of them having the same name, Roughriders, summed it up.

FORD VS TRUMP
Trump treats Trudeau like he’s an annoying gnat that he simply brushes off. Trump will test his teeth on a new federal Liberal leader, if they are successful at the polls, and all I can envision is a very poor outcome for us. Trump has no respect for women, and probably deep down still believes they belong in the kitchen making sure hubby is happy, so a female leader will not do well with him at any government level. To me, Doug Ford looks like the only person who is strong enough to take on Trump in a tough but conciliatory way that may benefit Ontario and possibly Canada. I support his mandate because I want him in power as long as Trump is in the picture.

BAD POLICIES
What kind of people have no principles, now saying Trudeau policies wrong, they knew it all along, same old song! They are all complicit in destroying Canada.
