Police are investigating after two people were found dead at a house in south Belfast.
The bodies of two women were discovered this morning in the Finaghy Road area.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “At this stage of our enquiries, it is not believed that the deaths are suspicious.”
The Belfast Telegraph understands that the two elderly residents of the property on Torr Way were sisters.
Police, paramedics and a coroner attended the property at around 1.30pm.
A funeral director removed the bodies close to 2pm.
Neighbours spoke of their shock as news of the tragedy emerged.
One said he had helped one of the women to her door recently, as she had been calling for help from inside her car.
“The woman we helped was caring for her sister, who I think was aged in her 90s, but she probably needed care herself. It’s awful,” he said.
He also said the street was a quiet, peaceful area and that everyone was very friendly.
“We have a Nepalese family one side of us, and a Polish family on the other, and then lots of elderly locals,” he added.
“Everyone gets on and you always have someone to take the bins in for you if you’re ever away. This is very sad.”
Another nearby resident said he saw the two elderly sisters regularly driving round in their “wee navy Hatchback”.
He said it was another tragic incident in the area.
“It’s very quiet round here and there have been a lot of deaths,” he added.
“One man died shortly before Christmas, and another man right beside him died on the same morning I think.
“They were both very elderly, but it’s still so sad.
“Everyone gets on well around here, there’s never any trouble.”
