Travis Kelce will not attend this weekend’s Grammy Awards as he focuses on preparations for the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The tight end will remain with his team in Kansas City as they ready themselves for their championship clash against the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans on 9 February.

Sources familiar with the situation confirmed Kelce’s planned absence from the prestigious music awards ceremony, which takes place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday.

The decision comes as the Chiefs continue their intensive training schedule ahead of their attempt to secure another NFL championship title.

Taylor Swift, Kelce’s girlfriend, is set to present at the iconic music ceremony and is nominated for six awards following her groundbreaking 2024, which included the release of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

This marks another occasion where the couple will be apart during the music industry’s biggest night.

Kelce expressed disappointment in 2024 about being unable to watch Swift during one of the industry’s most significant evenings.

Despite Swift wrapping up her highly successful Eras tour last month, the couple will have to celebrate separately as Kelce prioritises his Super Bowl preparations.

The 67th annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Crypto.com Arena, whilst Kelce remains focused on his team’s championship aspirations.

This is not the first time Kelce has missed the Grammy Awards due to Super Bowl commitments.

Last year, he was notably absent as the Chiefs prepared to face the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

That decision proved successful, with Kansas City securing their second consecutive Super Bowl victory.

The Chiefs are now pursuing a historic three-peat as they prepare to face the Eagles in New Orleans.

The previous year’s arrangement worked well for the couple, as they were able to celebrate together following the Chiefs’ championship victory.

With another Lombardi Trophy at stake, Kelce’s focus remains firmly on maintaining the team’s winning streak rather than attending the music industry’s premier event.
