Fashion fans are racing to get their hands on a suedette jacket from Marks & Spencer that has some serious designer qualities and could give the likes of Massimo Dutti a run for its money. The Suedette Lightweight Jacket from the M&S collection costs £59 and is selling fast, according to the website with over 34 being sold in just three hours (at time of writing).

The jacket – which is a brilliant affordable alternative to the out of stock Leather Nubuck Jacket from Massimo Dutti, £399 but on sale for £229 – is still available on the website in size extra small to large, with the XL being sold out. With chunky dark brown buttons that contrast the soft tan material finish, the jacket is a clear hit with shoppers and is high ‘in demand’.

Ideal for spring, the garment is lightweight and has been made from faux suede, giving it a luxurious feel and finish. The jacket has a regular fit, meaning it’s not too small, not too big.

Topped with a neat collar, it’s a great piece for the spring time, but can be worn in colder weather with a light jumper underneath. The product also comes with two welt pockets for your immediate essentials, making it both practical and stylish.

While it hasn’t yet received any reviews, having only recently launched on the website, the rate at which it is selling shows how high quality and popular it is amongst shoppers. Being faux suedette, however, one thing to be wary of is stains and marks, as it’ll easily show up on the fabric – especially with it being a light colour.

That being said, we can see this lovely jacket working with a handful of outfits, from smart office days, paired with some wide leg trousers and heels, to more casual Sundays in your favourite jeans and some tan pumps or trainers.

If you like the suedette style, but M&S’ design, here, isn’t working for you, River Island’s slightly darker Brown Faux Suede Cropped Overshirt might be better for you at £40. Alternatively, New Look’s Stone Faux Suede Button Up Jacket, £39.99, is great for those who prefer a v-neckline. For more of a taupe, stone colour, ASOS DESIGN’s top collar premium suedette jacket in beige is £55.

If you want a similar style coat that’s a bit more outdoorsy, Marks & Spencer’s Cord Collared Relaxed Jacket in soft spice has received a lot of love from shoppers who have hailed it as a “cute jacket. Kind of a feminine take on a workman’s jacket in a nice sturdy fabric”.

While it is more cropped, it’s great with a pair of jeans and some trainers.
