Prince Harry’s close pal Chris Martin has confirmed he will support the Duke of Sussex at a huge event.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has been announced as the latest addition to the star-studded opening ceremony lineup for the 2025 Invictus Games in Vancouver.
The English vocalist will perform at B.C. Place Stadium on February 8, joining previously announced headliners Katy Perry, Noah Kahan and Nelly Furtado.
The performance will serve as a “powerful tribute to hope, resilience and the Invictus Spirit at the heart of these Games,” organisers said in a statement released today.

The opening ceremony will kick off the week-long international competition, which runs until February 16 across Vancouver and Whistler.
Martin’s involvement with the Invictus Games dates back to their founding by Prince Harry in 2014, when he composed the Invictus Anthem.
The Grammy Award-winner’s composition has since become a cornerstone of the Games, playing during medal ceremonies at every tournament.
The anthem was inspired by William Ernest Henley’s poem “Invictus,” which contains the powerful lines that sparked the competition’s motto: “I am the master of my fate, I am the competition of my soul.”

The upcoming performance marks a full-circle moment for Martin, whose music has been integral to the Games’s ceremonies for over a decade.
The 2025 Games will welcome up to 550 athletes representing 23 nations to compete in British Columbia.
This year’s event marks a significant milestone with the introduction of winter adaptive sports for the first time in the competition’s history.
Athletes will participate in new disciplines including skeleton, biathlon, skiing and snowboarding.

The events will be split between Vancouver and Whistler venues during the nine-day competition.
Prince Harry, a former captain in the British Army who served two tours in Afghanistan, founded the Invictus Games to champion post-injury achievements of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans.
The Games has grown significantly since its inception, with the 2025 edition marking its seventh tournament. The closing ceremony will feature another impressive lineup of performers, including Jelly Roll, Barenaked Ladies and The War and Treaty.
Robyn McVicker, Chief Operating Officer of the Invictus Games, told People that Prince Harry had “input” in selecting the headlining acts, adding they were “honoured and thrilled that so many incredible musicians want to be connected with the Invictus movement.”
