When Paige Spiranac talks, people pay attention.
The golf influencer is now hoping that fans of professional golf heed her advice and stick with the sport amid the many current issues bringing it down.
The blonde bombshell, who has more than 5 million followers across social media platforms, shared her “smoking hot” take on the current state of the game that she loves in a video posted to X on Wednesday.
“So, I have a smoking hot golf take that no one asked for and we’re going to talk about it anyway,” Spiranac said. “There’s no secret that there’s been intense discord online regarding professional golf and why it’s not capturing the audience like it once did. Honestly, because there’s a lot of s*** going on.”
The uber-popular influencer isn’t wrong on that front. She had no shortage of legitimate concerns to rattle off, including: The ongoing feud between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, which has led to some of the world’s greatest players no longer playing on the Tour, the length of the schedule, the recently launched TGL, the pace of play on and, of course, the non-stop talk about money.
She also pointed out that cheering for golfers is different than your hometown team.
“Golf is at a major disadvantage compared to other sports teams. You don’t have a personal connection to an individual golfer like you do to your hometown team,” she said.
“Let’s be real, right now with golf, this is a perfect storm. We always knew that golf was going to struggle once Tiger Woods wasn’t playing week-in and week-out. And with that happening, plus, all of those other issues that I mentioned, it is a rebuilding year.”
The former collegiate golf star stressed the importance of events such as the Ryder Cup, which helps align the interests of fans, saying “it gives people something bigger to root for.”
While Spiranac’s rise to fame came from her YouTube channel and social media clips, she said that type of content can’t survive in the long run if the professional game begins to slowly die.
“It is so incredibly exciting, so I feel, that as golf fans and golf lovers, we need to understand that professional golf is important to the growth of the game,” the multiple-time Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model said. “If you love YouTube golf or professional golf and professional golf enhances YouTube golf, all of this works together as an ecosystem.
“I love golf, golf is everything to me, so I’m going to stand by golf as if I would my hometown team and I feel like that’s what we need to do right now.”
Golf’s glamour girl then wrapped things up by taking a quick drive-by shot at the New York Jets, the seemingly cursed NFL franchise.
“We can still express our concerns and what we want to change, but we can’t turn our backs on professional golf.
“If Jets fans can show up year after year, then we can continue to support professional golf because remember, there is nothing better than the back nine at a major and I never want to lose that magic,” she concluded.
