A 61-year-old man has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference in connection with a number of alleged sex assault incidents in Brampton in 2023 and 2024.

Peel Regional Police say on Jan.16, the Special Victims Unit began an investigation after a victim came forward to report historical incidents.

The female victim alleged between the summer of 2023 and Sept 2024, she was approached multiple times by the accused along the pathway that connects Williams Parkway & Bovaird Drive, at the rear of St. Maria Goretti Elementary School and Fred Kee Park.

Cops say the incidents allegedly began by the suspect engaging in general conversation with the victim, which then escalated to the suspect touching the victim in a sexual manner.

Police say there were no reports of physical injuries.

O’Neil Reid, of Brampton, is charged with the three offences and released with conditions and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date.
