If you’re considering gifting flowers this Valentine’s Day, Aldi offers a budget-friendly alternative that will never wilt away. In fact, it offers you something fun and creative to do with your other half for just £3.

In a TikTok video, @Fenloninteriors_ went straight to her local Aldi store and declared she found “the perfect Valentine’s gift for wholesome girlies”. Ellie stopped not far from the entrance at a pink stand of flowers.

But unlike normal flowers, these £3 ones do not need watering. They will actually need to be built piece by piece, as they’re very similar to popular LEGO sets.

The DIY Aldi sets cost £2.99 a flower, featuring varieties like red roses, yellow tulips and pink peonies. There’s a full list of the 10 distinct choices in Aldi’s SpecialBuy leaflet.

  • Lavender
  • Zinnia
  • Red Rose
  • Pink Rose
  • Orchid
  • Paper Bush
  • Blue Clover
  • Tulip
  • Jasmine
  • Peony

Most were quick to notice how the flowers were very similar to the popular and trendy LEGO Botanical collection but at a fraction of the cost, reports the Mirror. Praised as a viral ‘must buy’, the Blocks in Bloom range has quickly gone viral on TikTok, meaning stock will be even more limited than usual at stores across the UK.

While LEGO’s official bouquet of red roses retails for £54.99 including a dozen blooms and baby breath accents, savvy Aldi customers can recreate a comparable assortment for just £35.88 – that’s a pretty nifty saving of over £19

Aldi shoppers praised the supermarket’s latest offering of affordable LEGO-like flower sets, which come in various piece counts to suit different skill and patience levels. One happy customer said: “I’ve always wanted some LEGO flowers but they’re mad expensive! These are amazing!”

Another added: “They have great choices here. I bet Aldi will be raided once people see these!” A third shared their shopping success: “I went to my local Aldi at 8.30am for these! So glad I was able to get them!” Another said: “I’ve been influenced! Going to see if I can get myself a whole bouquet.”

In preparation for Valentine’s Day on February 14, Aldi has also released an affordable range of fun items, including greeting cards, plush toys and boxes of chocolates. However, customers should act quickly as SpecialBuy stock is limited and won’t be restocked once it’s sold out.

To ensure they don’t miss out, Aldi shoppers are advised to visit multiple locations if needed. To stay one step ahead, you can also browse the store’s website where upcoming deals are previewed so your shopping trip is less frantic and distracting by new items.
