A person is fighting for their life after a crash in Clevedon. Emergency services were called to Tickenham Road in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, January 30) after a car collided with a wall.
The road, near the M5, was closed after Avon and Somerset Police rushed to the scene at around 2.20am. One person has been taken to hospital following the crash.
They have sustained life-threatening injuries, the force said in a statement. Avon and Somerset Police said: “One person has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle collision in Clevedon in the early hours of this morning (30 Jan).
“Officers were called to Tickenham Road at 2.20am after a car had collided with a wall. The road has now reopened.”
Clevedon Firefighters added: “At 0220hrs this morning both crews from Clevedon, along with crews from Temple and Bath Fire station were mobilised to Tickenham Road, Clevedon to reports of a vehicle that had collided with a wall.
“On arrival crews found one person trapped inside the vehicle. Working alongside South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, Avon and Somerset Police and Wales Air Ambulance Charity to free and treat the casualty who was taken by ambulance to hospital.”
