A 24-year-old man, who was already out on bail facing two counts of attempted murder and gun charges stemming from last summer, is now charged with a third count of attempted murder in connection with a Brampton shooting earlier in 2024.

Peel Regional Police say on the evening of March 9, 2024, they responded to a parking lot shooting in at 51 McMurchy Ave. S. – near Queen St. W. and Main St. S. – and found an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Following an investigation, on Jan. 26, 2025, Travarn Atkinson was arrested and charged with attempted murder using a firearm.

The Mississauga man was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

Atkinson was previously charged with two counts of attempted murder by the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police in connection with two incidents.

On Aug. 16, 2024, members of the Sioux Lookout OPP responded to a weapons-related disturbance on Millar Cr. and on Sept. 6, 2024, they were asked to remove unwanted persons from a residence on King St.

Officers arrested Atkinson, he was the third person to be arrested in these incidents, and a restricted firearm was also recovered at the residence. He was charged with two counts of attempted murder and four weapons-related charges.
