The Masked Singer UK is set for a shake-up as one of its judges, Mo Gilligan, will be replaced due to a scheduling conflict.

Mo could not film the final two episodes of the current series due to tour dates in the US.

ITV has enlisted Richard E Grant to cover the semi-final on February 8, while last year’s winner Danny Jones, also known as Piranha, will join the panel for the final on February 15.

The show has already seen guest appearances from Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, Vicky McClure, Suranne Jones, Tom Daley, and Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah, who joined the panel after being unmasked as Giant Joel in the season’s opening episode.

The sixth series of The Masked Singer UK is now past its halfway point, with viewers eagerly guessing the identities of the remaining characters.

Five celebrities have already been revealed: Good Morning Britain’s Kate Garraway and Bake Off judge Prue Leith were first unveiled as Spag Bol and Pegasus, respectively.

They were followed by 90s pop singer Macy Gray and T’Pau’s Carol Decker, who were revealed to be Toad in the Hole and Tattoo.

Last weekend, Teeth and Bear found themselves in the bottom two, with the judges deciding to eliminate Teeth, who turned out to be comedian and TV presenter Mel Giedroyc.

After the big reveal on the show, Mel expressed her excitement: “I’ll take Su Pollard! It’s so nice to see you guys. I love these teeth so much! I was very pleased with Alex Scott. Such a fun show, it’s impossible not to have fun on this show!”

She continued her enthusiasm during The After Mask interview with Harriet Rose: “Listen, if you told me you’re going to have a chance to sing the Neighbours theme tune dressed as an enormous pair of wind-up teeth with pink tights and big pink flapping feet, I would say I could stop my career now. For me, that is the pinnacle!”

With only seven characters left – Bear, Bush, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Pufferfish, Snail, and Wolf – anticipation is building for the quarter-final. Set to air on February 1 on ITV, there’s a twist in store as two characters will be unmasked for the first time this series, reports the Mirror.
