Chris McCausland had a brutal confession after watching a video from Strictly Come Dancing partner Dianne Buswell’s boyfriend.

The Australian dancer has been in a relationship with YouTuber Joe Sugg since meeting on the hit BBC show in 2018. But comedian Christ confessed he wasn’t entirely sure what a “social media star” does.

However, after watching a video from the popular star, Chris was left thinking he was “remarkable”.

Speaking on Winning Isn’t Everything, his new podcast with Dianne, Chris said: “I went online and on his YouTube channel, he’s got a video where he does all the Simpson’s voices. It is remarkable. This sounds horrible but I didn’t know he was talented.”

In response, Dianne praised Joe’s multi-faceted abilities, saying: “I can tell you now, Joe is one of the most multi-talented people I have met. He can art, he can do voices, he can act, he can sing, he is a quadruple-threat.”

Chris then quipped about his preconceived notions of social media personalities, remarking: “You just think of a social media star and you just think he does the thing where you go ‘hey guys, just going to show you my fridge today, I was thinking of having a sandwich before but I decided on an omelette. That’s the kind of vibe you get with the idea of it but he’s a talented guy.”

Chris and Dianne won the coveted Glitterball Trophy on Strictly Come Dancing in December, marking a historic victory as Chris became the first blind contestant on the show, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Chris shared his thoughts on Joe, revealing that he “liked” him after their interaction on the show. He remarked: “At the final, when he came over to say congratulations, I did sense a little bit of envy. I know he wanted you to do well, and he wanted you to win, but really, as well, I think there was a little part of him that couldn’t get over the fact a blind man had done better than him.”

Dianne, responding with laughter, agreed: “It’s so true. And with 10 times the amount of followers that you had as well.”

Joe and Dianne were dance partners in the 16th series of Strictly Come Dancing where they danced their way to the final.

However, they finished as runners-up alongside celebrities Faye Tozer and Ashley Roberts, with the glitterball trophy ultimately going to Stacey Dooley.
