Just days after Lorraine Kelly criticised Wynne Evans for his “crude sexual remark” allegedly made towards Janette Manrara during the Strictly Come Dancing live tour, the TV presenter has again hit out at the 53-year-old.

On this morning’s (29 January) Good Morning Britain, Lorraine spoke about Evans’s comments and his departure from the live tour which was announced yesterday.

She said Evans “had” to take a break and “think about what he’s done.”

She continued: “I thought come on, I just don’t get it, I don’t know why you would think that.

“What kind of person says that anyway, but what kind of nutter does that when they are being filmed? Its bad enough to think it but then say it, I don’t know, I don’t understand it.

“I am constantly baffled.”

Later, discussing the news on her own show, she called Evans a “complete clown.”

On Monday whilst hosting her own show, Kelly said Evans needed to “do better”.

“The former opera singer has been in the headlines, though, after being overheard making a crude sexual remark towards It Takes Two presenter Janette during a photocall. I shan’t say what he said, suffice to say, it’s really not on,” she said.

Evans shared a statement on social media on Tuesday evening about his departure saying: “I’ve agreed with the BBC that I’ll take some time out from my radio show and the Strictly Live tour, as well as my other public commitments, to prioritise my wellbeing.

“I am deeply sorry for the pain my inappropriate actions have caused, and plan to take this time for self-reflection.

“Apologies to those I won’t get to see at the remaining performances and I’m grateful to my fellow tour gang for all the amazing support they have given me.”

Evans, best known for his role the Go Compare adverts and hosting his weekday show on BBC Radio Wales, came eighth in last year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Katya Jones.

Jones broke her silence on the incident, asking people to “show humanity and consideration”. Adding: “I will miss you my darling boy.”

During the show, the pair cleared up “a running joke” after viewers spotted Jones moving his hand from around her waist and refusing to high-five him during an episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
